Berkley Ice Arena Skates Into New Season Tuesday

It's a day many Berkley and Huntington Woods residents alike wait months for.

Tuesday marks the official opening of the for the 2012-2013 season.

As home to the Berkley High School Bears and Dragon Youth Hockey Program, the neighborhood favorite also provides the community with a location to open skate. Furthermore, the Berkley Ice Arena offers hockey players (ages 18+) the chance to improve on their skills with open hockey times. Full equipment is required to practice, and space is limited to 22 people.

Listed below are open skate and open hockey times for this season.

Open Skate Times:

Monday - Friday: 11:30 a.m. - 1:20 p.m.

Saturday: 6 p.m. - 7:50 p.m. (begins Sept. 15)

Sunday: 5 p.m. - 6:50 p.m. (begins Nov. 4)

Open skate costs $5/adults, $4/children (12 & under) and $3 to rent skates.

Open Hockey Times:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday (Mornings): 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (Afternoons): 1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Saturday (Evenings): 8 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Open hockey costs $15/player, but is free for goalies.
