“Michigan Remembers” 9/11 Tribute Event/Lantern Lighting Ceremony

Our Metro Parks and CBS Detroit Radio are holding a special rememberance for 9/11 to Honor Victims and Thank Protectors.

All seven Metroparks will have “9/11 Michigan Remembers” tribute banners.  Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown and Metro Beach Metropark in Harrison Township have special events starting at 5 p.m.

  At 9:11 p.m. both of these parks will have a sky lantern lighting ceremonies. The skylanterns will be released as a remembrance.

Note: sky lanterns are biodegradable. They can be purchased that evening for a $5 donation to the Salvation Army.
