Lawyer Donating Backpacks and School Supplies to 33,000 Students in Detroit Public Schools

The Mike Morse Law Firm is helping students in Detroit Public Schools start the year with the supplies they need.

The city of Detroit has been through some hard times in recent years and of the turmoil has taken a toll on Detroit Public Schools. Not long ago, the district made national headlines after teachers staged large “sick-outs” to protest things like overcrowding, dangerous building conditions, and budgetary problems.

To help give the students, parents, and teachers of Detroit Public Schools a much needed break, attorney Mike Morse and the Mike Morse Law Firm are making sure students start the new school year with all the supplies they need. They will be giving 33,000 backpacks full of school supplies to every Detroit Public School student in grades K-8. This isn’t the first time Morse has helped out the students of Detroit Public Schools out in this way. Last year, they donated 23,000 backpacks and supplies to all Detroit Public School students in grades K-5.

Morse was inspired to start the backpack giveaways after learning how many children in Detroit Public Schools were unable to start the school year with all the supplies they need because they come from families that are unable to afford them. By giving backpacks and supplies to so many students, he hopes to create a more level playing field so that students have an equal chance to succeed.
