PHOTOS: More Than 800 Turn Out at Men's Club Auction

It’s no secret that the was the place to be Saturday evening.

The 31^st annual Huntington Woods Men’s Club (HWMC) Service Auction had an estimated 800 community members strolling through Huntington Road, Scotia Avenue and Lincoln Drive – auction lanes set up around the gym.

Shoulder-to-shoulder, attendees made their way through the tables that showcase hundreds of items and end with friendly faces at each corner.

Men’s Club member Tony Lehmann calls it “the two degrees of separation” in “The Woods.”

“You know everyone around here,” he said with a laugh.

that was compromised with the invasion of the Emerald Ash Borer over the last few years.  

At the auction Saturday evening, attendees sampled food from local eateries and mingled while placing bids for items in the silent auction up until 9:30 p.m. That’s when the real party starts with the live auction.

Hot items in the live auction were a Fourth of July VIP package, a three-night stay in a cottage up north, a hand-embellished art piece by Tim Yanke and an African safari package.
