Thursday Event Isn't Your Mother's Bridal Show
Heads up, June brides (and others, too): Rock the Veil showcases bands in live sets, plus gowns, bakeries and other wedding essentials

Nick Lowe’s “I Knew the Bride (When She Used to Rock ‘n’ Roll)” might be a fitting cover for one the seven bands performing at Thursday’s Rock the Veil Wedding Showcase at the Royal Oak Farmers Market.
The non-traditional bridal show will be “so amazing that even the grooms-to-be will want to attend,” event organizer Bill Lonskey of The Quintessential Event Company said in a news release.

The musicians lined up to perform are among area’s top wedding musicians, representing ge everything from cover bands to Motown to country. They will perform 30-minute sets on two alternating stages during the duration of the showcase, which runs from 6-10 p.m.
More than 60 exhibitors offering a wide array of services – from gowns to reception venues to bakeries to everything in between – will be featured. Participation is limited to a handful of of the best metro Detroit vendors in each category, Lonskey said.

Rock the Veil is co-promoted and co-sponsored by nine local wedding planners, representing a never-before-seen collaboration of local talent, Lonskey said.
Farmers Market food concessions will be open during the event so guests can get a bite to eat while they browse.
Advance discount tickets are available for $5 online at www.rocktheveil.com. Tickets are also available at the door for $7.
The Royal Oak Farmers Market is an enclosed, heated facility located at 316 E. 11 Mile Road in downtown Royal Oak. Free parking is available.
