Birmingham Citizens Academy is Like Civics 101 for Adults
Space is limited for the inaugural session of interactive learning experience about municipal government. Apply by April 8.

BIRMINGHAM, MI – City officials are offering a program that’s a little like Civics 101 for adults — the Birmingham Citizens Academy, which is accepting applications for its inaugural class through Friday, April 8.
The program, announced Monday night, is a way to share information about the services the city provides and the roles of various departments in serving the public. The program will feature interactive learning experience about municipal government services, programs and responsibilities.

“We are excited to offer this new interactive program for our residents and feel it will open doors of understanding to city government and increase awareness about opportunities to serve in the city,” City Manager Joe Valentine said in a statement.

The sessions will be limited to a total of 20 participants to ensure a quality experience for all participants. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of the city of Birmingham.
