Birmingham Students Receive State 'Reflections' Awards
Students from West Maple Elementary, Derby Middle School, Groves High School score top marks in statewide contest.
More than a dozen students from received top marks in the Michigan Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA)'s annual Reflections contest.
The contest evaluates students in various categories in the arts, including photography, film production and musical composition.
Students from a variety of buildings in the district, from West Maple Elementary to Seaholm High School, received marks of "Merit" or "Excellence" in the contest. In total, the state awarded 144 Reflections Awards — Birmingham received 21 of those.

In addition, four entries were at the very top of their category and grade division and will move on to the national competition.
