Detroit Country Day School Appoints Wendy Strip as Director of Advancement
The longtime fundraising professional will be responsible for fundraising, alumni relations, marketing and enrollment activities.

Detroit Country Day School (DCDS), an independent, non-denominational, college preparatory school, announced today that longtime fundraising professional Wendy Strip has been named director of Advancement. DCDS Headmaster Glen Shilling made the announcement.
“As an active and valued member of the community, Wendy brings strong leadership qualities and a history of local engagement and we are thrilled to add her to our team,” said Shilling. “DCDS continuously strives for fresh, innovative ways to serve our students, community and alumni, and Wendy’s background in fundraising and communication and record of excellence in community service will integrate seamlessly into those goals.”
In her role as director of advancement for DCDS, Strip will be responsible for fundraising, alumni relations, marketing and enrollment activities. Her previous experience includes serving as vice president of Development and Communications at The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Michigan Chapter and director of Development at the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit.

Strip has been significantly recognized for her community service work. She was awarded both the Farmington/Farmington Hills Optimist of the Year Award and the Greater West Bloomfield Business Leadership Award. A graduate of the county’s Leadership Oakland program and its Advanced Leadership Institute, she now serves on the organization’s board of directors. In addition, she is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Planned Giving Roundtable of Southeast Michigan.
Strip holds a bachelor’s degree from the American University’s School of International Service in Washington and a Master’s of Public Administration degree from University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.
