Eton Academy Launches Center for Teaching and Learning with Kick-Off Events for Community
Birmingham, Mich – With over thirty years of dedication and expertise serving area students who learn differently, Eton Academy is expanding its services by focusing on outreach, teacher training, and tutoring services for teachers, students, parents and other professionals through the newly created Hartmann-Eton Center for Teaching and Learning.
The Hartmann-Eton Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) has a new physical space on-site at Eton focusing on teacher training, coaching, and consulting, tutoring services, and community educational presentations that help parents understand learning differences. The CTL also offers customized off-site teacher training, coaching, and workshops, designed for the specific needs of area schools, both public and private.
This expansion of Eton Academy’s services brings to fruition the Eton Board of Trustees broader and more ambitious goal of helping more students in the surrounding community by sharing Eton’s learning disability expertise and deep knowledge on how students learn best.

“We are excited to integrate key elements of our proven Eton Approach™ from the school side into these new programs and service offerings. We know that when the entire team surrounding each student has the tools to work through these learning differences, teachers, parents and other professionals feel empowered, and students can reach their limitless potential,” stated Pete Pullen, Head of School.
The CTL professionals, all trained by Eton Academy, are working with several area schools to provide customized training and coaching on a variety of strategies that are showing results for the students they serve. Eton’s Tutor Pro tutoring services, which had previously been offered through Eton Academy, now have expanded opportunities to serve more students by being a part of the CTL.

“We have already empowered and supported hundreds of teachers and students from other schools by sharing tools that improve learning and increase student success. It is truly exciting and collaborative work with the community,” stated Ellen Tatone, Director of the Hartmann-Eton Center for Teaching and Learning.
Through a generous gift by Mr. & Mrs. E. Jan Hartmann, Eton is now able to support students beyond its walls by providing needed support through the CTL. “We are incredibly grateful for Mr. & Mrs. E. Jan Hartmann’s vision and deep commitment to helping different learners. Eton and the Center would not have been possible without their support.” stated Pullen.
The CTL will host a series of kick-off events May 9-11, aimed at engaging the community at large and giving teachers, students, parents, and community members a chance to experience the full array of services offered. Teacher training, free tutoring for new families, and a community panel of local educational experts for learning differences will be offered.
