Breaking Free from Compulsive Eating

Learn why you eat and what's eating you.  Emotions trigger overeating, but diets do too. Any attempt to restrict food for weight loss, can trigger compulsive eating.  So what's a person to do?  In this workshop participants learn a new way of eating and thinking, which resolves overeating.  Normal eaters without weight problems eat according to their body's natural hunger signals.  Compulsive eaters constantly criticize their food and themselves.  For example:  “This is fattening.  Why are you eating this?  Why can't you control yourself? Learn to eat according to your hunger signals, beating yourself up for your food or weight, and release overeating.

Abbe J. Grossman, MA, eating disorder coach, has spent 18 years specializing in overeating and body image issues. She was a pioneer in bringing the "non-diet" approach (written about by author Geneen Roth) to the Detroit area decades ago. She founded the "Making Peace with Food" program, featured in the Detroit Free Press and local TV. She has trained dietitians and psychotherapists in her approach. She has a Masters in Psychology, spent close to two decades as an eating disorder therapist, and is a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist.
