Creating a Fashion Drawing

Don’t think you know how to sketch? This course will help employ students with the ability to render a basic fashion figure by hand, introducing the use of colored pencil and markers, to accurately portray both proportion of a fashion figure and true qualities of the drape of fabric on the figure. The industry standard basic 9-head figure proportion taught as a flat, as well and styled (“high-hip frontal” pose) figure will be covered. The rendering of 2-3 different fabrics are taught using an actual swatch of fabric. Supply list will be sent to students. A $5 materials fee payable to instructor for hard to find supplies she will be providing.

Instructor Milda Bublys is a Michigan-bred, NYC-educated, former Fashion Institute of Technology professor with a specialization in Fashion Art and Clothing Construction. Milda has taught in the New York fashion industry for over 11 years, with everyone from Urban Outfitters to Alexander McQueen. She currently is designing her own clothing collection, and is co-designing a jewelry collection.
