
Where does one start? From fashion illustration, to styling & shooting sewn garments, to creating trend boards/ mood pages, to correctly compositioning a layout, this class will answer your questions. Apply “shortcuts” using online and personal resources in putting the portfolio together to fast-track your skill level and make it specifically applicable for a position in the fashion world, or entry into fashion school. Milda will guide you in tailoring each portfolio to the needs and aesthetic of each job and how to edit anticipate future employer’s needs. Tips on resources to acquire trend information, sourcing fabrics and trims, placement agencies and their requirements will be covered. Supply list will be sent to students. A $5 materials fee payable to instructor for additional hard to find supplies she will be providing.
Instructor Milda Bublys is a Michigan-bred, NYC-educated, former Fashion Institute of Technology professor with a specialization in Fashion Art and Clothing Construction. Milda has taught in the New York fashion industry for over 11 years, with everyone from Urban Outfitters to Alexander McQueen. She currently is designing her own clothing collection, and is co-designing a jewelry collection.
