In “Educational Evaluation and Testing: Who Needs Them?” parents and educators will learn the latest developments in the field of educational evaluation and testing from The Student Connection team of educational and clinical psychologists and professional educators.
The educational evaluation process gathers solid information about a student's learning and functional abilities in order to best determine the individual's educational needs. Information is gathered through interviews with students and parents, through individual and group tests, and from other sources.
The evaluation helps identify children who are eligible for special education and related services. Evaluations also are used to create an Individualized Education Program and form a baseline from which to measure a learner's progress. Most importantly, the information helps create the optimal educational program for the student.
