Be your own family detective! If you love the hit TV show “Who Do You Think You Are” – then you’ll love doing genealogy! This beginner course series will help you discover your family history! Beginners and amateurs will learn basic research methods: types of records, how to find them; evaluating evidence; standards of proof, and organizing your materials. Genealogy is so fascinating and rewarding, it will truly change your life! A $5 material fee is payable to instructor. Bring note taking materials to class.
Jan Morgenstern, an experienced genealogist for fifteen years, received her solid foundation in the field with the prestigious National Genealogical Society’s “American Genealogy: A Basic Course” while continuing attendance at local, regional and national genealogy conferences. She professionally researches for clients, and lectures locally on genealogy related topics. She is a long time member of the National Genealogical Society, the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), and has New England ancestry that includes three passengers from the Mayflower. Jan combines her passion and experience in genealogy to help others discover the many joys and rewards that genealogy is so known to bring!
