This lecture will focus on the intention of giving each student the basic tools, the experience required, and expectation in starting a fashion business. A very visual interactive presentation implementing the teacher’s own experience garnered in the field with specific examples of couture and the ready-to-wear companies she has worked with over the past eleven years. Whether starting a clothing/accessory line, selling vintage clothing, and goods, or starting your own fashion e-commerce business, Milda will teach you where to start, how to market yourself, and the principles involved to execute it correctly. Tips on resources of where to sell, market, and network both online and in the industry will be covered. Slideshow presentation and question and answer session at the end.
Instructor Milda Bublys is a Michigan-bred, NYC-educated, former Fashion Institute of Technology professor with a specialization in Fashion Art and Clothing Construction. Milda has taught in the New York fashion industry for over 11 years, with everyone from Urban Outfitters to Alexander McQueen. She currently is designing her own clothing collection, and is co-designing a jewelry collection.
