Local Entrepreneur Opens Business Dedicated to Making a Difference in Birmingham

BrightStar Care of Birmingham Answers Call for a Higher Standard of Homecare for Local Residents

Birmingham, MI – Local entrepreneur Edwin Wudyka is fulfilling his dream of making a difference in the lives of residents in Birmingham by opening a BrightStar Care homecare and medical staffing agency. This new business will provide a range of compassionate, person-centered medical and non-medical care to people of all ages, from infants to seniors in the safety and comfort of their homes.

With an official opening date of January 9 BrightStar Care of Birmingham will offer a myriad of comprehensive services that meet the highest industry standards and will work to help educate residents on the right questions to ask when searching for an in-home care provider for a loved one. The location will service in the communities of Birmingham, Bloomfield Twp., Bloomfield Hills, Franklin, Beverly Hills, Berkley, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge, Oak Park and Southfield.

“I witnessed first-hand what it was like to watch a close family member struggle to remain in their home while battling cancer,” said Wudyka. “After seeing the difficulty my family experienced as we sought reliable, professional in-home care, I was lead to my decision to open BrightStar Care of Birmingham so I could provide a better experience for my community members going through similar situations.”

Wudyka holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Grand Valley State University, and for the last 20 years has been helping people get back on their feet via his insurance restoration business. During his time there, he led performance consulting for 90 newly franchised Certified Restoration DryCleaning Network (CRDN) locations across 48 states. Continuing on with his dedication to person-centered businesses, it was a natural fit for Wudyka to open up his own BrightStar Care location.

BrightStar Care conducted third-party research that shows that as families seek quality in-home care for their aging loved ones, the most important factors they consider include having a compassionate caregiver they can trust, somebody who understands the unique needs of their loved one, and having qualified, skilled medical professionals overseeing the care. However, the lack of clinical quality standards within the local and national private duty in-home care sector, combined with the public’s lack of knowledge of the industry, can make it challenging for Birmingham families confronted with the need for care or professionals looking to select a trustworthy service partner.
