Mt. Holly Resort Faces Lawsuit From Birmingham Families
The suit is asking for more than $75,000 in damages for each of the two children hurt in a ski lift accident.

Two Birmingham families whose children were hurt because of a malfunctioning Mt. Holly Resort ski lift have filed a lawsuit against the facility, the Oakland Press reports.
The suit, which was filed Sept. 15, is asking for more than $75,000 in damages for each of the two injured children, the report stated.

The two children were sixth-graders at Derby Middle School in the ski and snowboard club when they were injured during a Jan. 9 ski trip, the report stated.
According to the report, the ski lift bench detached, and the kids fell 25 feet. One child suffered bruising and broke her wrist and two ribs; the other child was knocked unconscious and suffered a broken wrist, a concussion and other head trauma.

Representatives from Mt. Holly Resort declined to comment on the lawsuit, the report stated.
