Oakland County Bar Foundation Hosts 19th Signature Event April 26

Nonprofit organization serving Oakland County to boost local support through annual fundraising event

The Oakland County Bar Foundation (the Foundation), a nonprofit organization serving the citizens of Oakland County and the legal profession, will host its 19th Annual Signature Event to continue a long tradition of support for Michigan-based legal aid and education programs on Thursday, April 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills. Foundation President Patrick McCarthy made the announcement.

“We consider access to justice and an understanding of the law to be valuable to every member of our community, and the Foundation’s Signature Event is the driving force behind our ability to regularly award grants that create or advance programming and educational offerings to our neighbors,” McCarthy said. “Our sponsors and partners enable us to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars each year, and we are grateful for their support as we look to expand our resources even more throughout Oakland County in the coming years.”

Proceeds from past events have assisted the important work of the CASA Program [Court-Appointed Special Advocates] through CARE House, the Family Law Assistance Project, Legal Aid for Children and Families, Michigan Center for Civic Education, Southwest Detroit Immigrant and Refugee Center, Troy Historical Society and more. In the past two years, the Signature Event has raised nearly $600,000, and with the help of such sponsors as Stout and Van Conway and Partners – both platinum sponsors for this year’s event – the Foundation is confident this year’s event will be another successful fundraiser.
