From The City of Birmingham:The City of Birmingham, Michigan has finished repainting the Park Street Parking Structure and is close to completing other refurbishments at the structure located at 333 Park Street in Birmingham.

“We are excited to inform our residents, business owners and many visitors to Birmingham that the vast majority of the 800 parking spaces at the Park Street Parking Structure are ready for their use,” said Paul O’Meara, the city’s Engineer. The Park Street Parking Structure was built in 1974. Improvements at the Park Street Structure include:

The painting and refurbishing project commenced in late June. The project was paid for out of the city’s parking fund. No taxpayer dollars were used to fund the project. A small punch list of final refurbishments is in the process of being completed.

A rooftop valet service was set up to minimize the impact the painting and refurbishing project had on regular users and visitors to the structure. “The valet service will likely continue,” O’Meara said. “The Park Street Parking Structure is the only structure in the city that needed to be painted. The remaining four structures are concrete and do not need to be painted,” O’Meara added.
