Seaholm Seniors Honored for Achievements in Scholarship, Arts, Community Service

More than 125 seniors from were honored Thursday night at the school's annual awards assembly.

"As parents, I'm sure it felt like just a few moments ago, you dropped your child off for kindergarten, and waited anxiously for them to come home and tell you how their first day of school went," Principal Dee Lancaster said.

"Right now, you must be very proud of your child over the last 13 years and this evening is meant to celebrate their successes," she said.

Phi Beta Kappa, Presidential Education awards

The Phi Beta Kappa award is given to students who maintained a 3.75 weighted grade point average in the five academic areas (English, math, science, social studies and world language) for the 10th, 11th and the first trimester of the 12th grade.

*The President's Education Award is awarded to students who have an un-weighted grade point average of 3.5 or higher after the second trimester of senior year and have a score in the 85th percentile or higher in math or reading on the spring 2011 ACT.
