Senior Men's Club of Birmingham Annual Picnic

Members of the Senior Men's Club of Birmingham enjoyed an anticipated summer event.

After months of preparation by Special Events and Picnic Committee members Bob Stevenson, John Horiszny, Rob McLandress, Martin Rowell, Tony DiMarco, Malcolm Hendy and Joe Samyn, over seventy members of the Senior Men’s Club of Birmingham gathered at Beverly Park in Beverly Hills on August eighth to enjoy classic cars, good food and the camaraderie of fellow members.

Eighteen Senior Men’s Club members displayed their classic cars so fellow enthusiasts could appreciate and photograph these beauties from a bygone era. After a highly contested series of bocce ball games and other activities, a picnic lunch of fresh corn, chicken, pulled pork, beans and ice cream was enjoyed by the men. One of the highlights of the day was the harmonious entertainment provided by the “Classic Fit Barber Shop Quartet”, who mixed levity with a variety of songs. Gift certificates generously donated by local merchants such as Peabody’s, Sweet Lorraine’s, Subway and the Community House of Birmingham were randomly drawn by lucky winners to bring the delightful summer afternoon to a close.
