Vice President Biden to Make Campaign Stop in West Bloomfield

Tickets are not available for the visit, believed to be the first time that a sitting U.S. vice president has come to town.

Vice Presidet Joe Biden will be in West Bloomfield — and it could be first time a sitting president or vice president has ever visited that area.

Vice President Joe Biden is expected to visit in West Bloomfield Township Wednesday for a campaign rally, Township Supervisor Michele Economou Ureste said.

However, although an announcement Saturday said tickets were supposed to go on sale for $500 a piece, Shenandoah management said Tuesday that only a small group will actually be visiting Biden.

"It's a special time for the township and for the folks at Shenandoah. They have a unique, impressive facility and I'm glad to see the campaign make a stop there," Economou Ureste said.

Management did not indicate what time Biden would be in town. Police Chief Michael Patton did not comment when specifically asked of possible road closures or delays due to transport security, but did indicate that if a closure were to occur, it would likely be "for a very short time."
