Bloomfield Township police release name of Ortonville man who died after his SUV crashed into a tree.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — “Alcohol was a factor” in a Sunday evening crash that killed the driver and injured his passenger, Bloomfield Township police said in a statement.

Police on Monday identified the victim as Travis Walls, 24, of Ortonville, in a statement that also corrected initial reports from the police department saying the accident occurred on Saturday.

The investigation into the Sunday crash is continuing, police said.
