Nearly Doubled
The number of commercial permits issued by the city almost doubled over this point last year (37-19). That translates into $19,671 in revenue from permit purchases, with a largest portion due to the total gutting and remodeling of the former Dickinson Wright building on Woodward Avenue, just north of Lone Pine Road. The building will be the new home to the Edward Rose Company, a multi-state property management company.
Residential permits are also up (63-43) from last year, totaling $31,183 in permit fees. The department issued four stop-work orders for projects without proper permits at four different residences.
