are investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide involving a recently divorced couple that occurred shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday. Officers responded to the 2200 block of Bedford Road after 911 callers reported multiple shots fired in their neighborhood, a news release stated. On arrival, the officers found a man and woman dead in the driveway of a residence. Each was about 45 years old, the release stated. The names of the victims have not been released. The initial investigation shows that the man shot and killed the woman with a rifle while she was sitting in her vehicle parked outside his home. He then apparently turned the weapon on himself, according to Bloomfield Township Police Capt. Steve Cook. Further details were not immediately available. Police remained at the scene Tuesday night, which is being processed by the Bloomfield Township Police investigations unit and the Oakland County Crime Scene Unit.
