Judge Who Cuffed Kids For Missing Lunch With Dad Faces Discipline
Judicial Tenure Commission: Judge "laughed at the children and was sarcastic," and made "significant misrepresentations of law and fact."

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI - The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission has issued a two-count complaint against embattled Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Lisa O. Gorcyca, who last summer ordered three minor children at the center of a bitter child custody case handcuffed and sent to a detention center for refusing to have lunch with their estranged father.
The complaint accuses Gorcyca of misconduct in her handling of the case and for making false statements to the commission in response to its initial inquiry about the long-running case involving the three minor children of Maya Eibschitz-Tsimhoni of Bloomfield Hills and Omer Tsimhoni of West Bloomfield.

The complaint said Gorcyca “failed to act in a patient, dignified and courteous manner” and made “significant misrepresentations of law and fact,” including statements to the children, who were 14, 11 and 9 at the time, that their case wouldn’t be reviewed until they turned 18.
In a statement to the Detroit Free Press, Gorcyca’s attorney, Tom Cranmer, said he is confident Gorcyca will be fully vindicated after a formal hearing and the charges against her will be dismissed.
