Did You Get A Starbucks Reusable Cup?

Starbucks fans man now have a more eco-friendly way to enjoy their coffee or caffeinated beverage.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the national coffee giant now sells reusable cups to help reduce the waste created by customers purchasing millions of beverages — and then throwing their cups away — every day. The cups sell retail for $1 and fill up to a grande size for a cup of joe.

Each refill in a reusable cup — be it one of the new tumblers or another Starbucks mug — earns the user a dime off their purchase.

The cups have already debuted on the west coast, but hit all Starbucks locations — including the six in immediate Bloomfield area — in the U.S. and Canada this week.

"We see real excitement about these cups," Starbucks' Jim Hanna told the Free Press. "People think they’re cool."

Both Starbucks, Bruegger's and the Michigan coffee chain, Biggby Coffee already offer a discount to customers who come in for a coffee refill with their reusable travel mug. However, those type of drink containers can cost $10 or more. Hanna said he believes the low price of Starbucks' new cup will drive use.
