Faulty Toaster May Have Caused Huge Bloomfield Condo Fire
Firefighters battled the blaze for more than five hours before bringing it under control.

A faulty toaster may have been responsible for a huge Oct. 18 fire that caused major damage to two condominium units in Bloomfield Hills, investigators said.
The Bloomfield Hills and Troy fire departments battled the blaze for nearly five hours before bringing it under control. Towering clouds of heavy smoke could be seen from several miles away, according to reports.
Lt. Noel Clason told Hometownlife.com the cause of the blaze is still under investigation, but preliminary indications that a faulty toaster sparked the blaze.

Two of the four attached condominium units were salvaged, but one sustained heavy smoke and water damage. A fourth unit is still occupied by the woner.
A cat was also rescued from the flames.
