5 Places to Find Last-Minute Halloween Costumes
With time running out to find a costume, Patch offers some ideas on where to go.
Halloween is a few days away and there isn't much left on most dedicated aisles as far as costumes at local retail stores. However, if you're straggling, a trip to any of these stores clustered on Bloomfield Township's north side should do the trick (or treat).
The obvious place to start is Halloween City, at 2063 S. Telegraph Rd. just north of the Square Lake Road intersection. The store has roughly 3,000 square feet dedicated to Halloween apparel, knick-knacks and elaborate decorations. Costumes for boys, girls and adults are labeled and organized by genre and available at various prices.
A 20-percent off coupon is available by registering at Halloween City's website through Halloween. The nationwide chain of 400 stores is giving away an iPad2 every day through Halloween to one lucky customer that registers.

Costumes are but a few of the items Costco, the warehouse retailer, won't have in bulk. Just one rack of costumes remains toward the front entrance. Princess and animal costumes for toddlers up to age 2 are $12.99 and costumes for children in sizes 4-6 are available for $7. Though the selection is limited, prices were already cut on these items Friday afternoon.
Kmart has a large variety of boys and girls costumes, masks and props for sale as part of the store's half-off Halloween promotion. The heavily discounted merchandise ranges from $2.49-$19.99 – but you have to hurry, the deals stop at the close of business today.

Those, too, are dwindling in supply, especially the "glow bone" that features a K-9 glow in the dark skeleton and the self-explanatory prison uniform with white and black stripes, employees said.
