Judge Won't Recuse Herself in Contentious Child Custody Case
"This court is not biased for or against either party," Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Lisa Gorcyca said in a written ruling.

Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Lisa Gorcyca said Monday she won’t recuse herself from the acrimonious battle for custody of three Bloomfield Hills children.

“The court is not biased for or against either party,” Gorcyca said in a written opinion, The Detroit News reports.

Gorcyca, who gained international attention when she sent the children to a juvenile detention center for refusing to have lunch with their estranged father, had been accused of showing bias toward the children’s father by their mother’s attorneys, who wanted the judge to disqualify herself.
Both Maya Eibschitz-Tsimhoni, of Bloomfield Hills, and Omer Tsimhoni, of West Bloomfield, are seeking full custody of their sons, ages 14 and 11, and daughter 9.
