Kroger, Gleaners Team Up to Fight Hunger In January

Bloomfield Township locations are among the sites in southeast Michigan participating in the Bringing Hope to the Table initiative.

This month, Gleaners Community Food Bank and Kroger are working together to bring hope to the tables of hungry residents in southeast Michigan.

Every Saturday in January, volunteers will hand out information about the Bringing Hope to the Table initiative, as well as accepting donations of nonperishable food and money from shoppers all day at local Kroger grocery stores across southeast Michigan,

Volunteers began their effort this weekend at Kroger locations in Wayne County. The will be in Macomb County on Jan. 12, officials said.

Volunteers for Bringing Hope to the Table will be in Oakland County on Jan. 19,  Livingston and Monroe counties on Jan. 26. Participants are still needed for every date except Jan. 19. To sign up, or to learn more information, go to the Gleaners website.
