Motorcyclist Killed in Bloomfield Township Crash
The fatal accident was the second in southeast Michigan Monday involving motorcycles.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with on Hickory Grove Monday afternoon, Bloomfield Township police said.
The motorcyclist, a 37-year-old Garden City man, was westbound on his 2003 Suzuki about 3:30 p.m. when he crashed with a 2013 Ford Fiesta crossing Hickory Grove from Chickering Lane, according to a statement.
The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford, a 25-year-old resident of Waterford, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the incident, Sgt. Kim Comerford of the Traffic Investigations Unit said.

Members of the Southeast Oakland County Crash Investigations Team assisted the Bloomfield Township Traffic Investigations Unit with the on-scene investigation.
The investigation is continuing, and police are seeking information from anyone who witnessed the crash to contact the Traffic Investigations Unit at (248) 433-7749.
The fatal accident was the second Monday involving a motorcycle. A 21-year-old Southfield resident was killed just after midnight Monday when the motorcycle she was riding on struck a passenger vehicle from behind on the Southfield Freeway.
