Quick Change Scam: No Sprinkles on Ice Cream, Just 20 Bucks

Suspect allegedly tried to confuse ice cream store clerk with various denominations, then snatched $20 bill from her hand.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI – A suspect described as a quick change artist grabbed a $20 from an employee’s hand after first confusing her while buying ice cream, Bloomfield Township police said.

Police are asking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in the recent incident at Stroh’s Ice Cream Parlor, 3659 W. Maple.

“The subject tried to confuse the employee with bill nominations,” Bloomfield Township Police Detective Sgt. Jim Gallagher said in a news release. “While the cashier was attempting to calculate the proper change, the ... subject reached over and grabbed a $20 bill from her hand.”
