Sky Foundation's Annual Fundraiser Moves to Detroit

Sky Foundation, Inc. will hold their 7th annual luncheon on Sunday, November 8 from noon to 3:00pm at the MGM Grand Hotel in Detroit with emcee Rod Meloni, WDIV Channel 4. Come enjoy Motown musical entertainment, delicious food, a silent and live auction, 50/50 raffle, plus much more!

Tickets are $100 each and are available now at skyfoundationinc.org. All proceeds support pancreatic cancer awareness and research.

Entertainment will be provided by Motor City Soul, a high energy dance and show band playing Motown tunes.

Over 20 silent auction items have been donated including two tickets on Ovation-Infinity yachts, four Tiger tickets with a signed ball/bat, and a $1,000 Somerset gift card. In addition, the live auction will include a variety of fantastic items including a Ryder Cup golf package, a Snowmass ski condo week, a Belle Isle Grand Prix Experience package, and a Red Wings game suite for 20 people.

“We are so excited to be bringing this wonderful event to the city of Detroit,” said Sheila Sky Kasselman, pancreatic cancer survivor and founder of Sky Foundation, Inc. “The more metro Detroit residents we can make aware of the strides we are making with pancreatic cancer research, the more people we can help. Over 35 tables have been sold already with a dedicated giving match of $100,000, and more are selling every day!”

In addition, Sky Foundation, Inc. is working with General Motors to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer. Together, they will be lighting the Renaissance Center purple from November 7 through November 14.

“We are so pleased to partner with GM to display awareness of pancreatic cancer,” said Kasselman. “This is the perfect time to do it with our upcoming event and since November 13 is World Pancreatic Cancer Day.”

Sky Foundation is a 501(c)3, not-for-profit organization that was founded in June 2008 by Kasselman. Sky Foundation’s governing and advisory boards are comprised of business, medical, and legal professionals who volunteer their time and dedicate their efforts toward raising funds for pancreatic cancer research and awareness.
