Suh, Scheffler Deliver the Pro Experience at D1 Detroit
Detroit Lions standouts lead a special training experience to celebrate the grand opening of their new business venture in Bloomfield Township.
Roughly 300 fitness enthusiasts got a first-hand experience of what it's like to train with the pros Tuesday as Detroit Lions Ndamukong Suh and Tony Scheffler kicked-off the opening of D1 Detroit.
The football stars are part of local ownership group that has taken over a portion of the on Bloomfield Township's north side and offers a new type of fitness experience to the area.

"It's an opportunity for me to show the kids what I went through, the things I went through when I was younger," Suh told wxyz.com. "I started out in sports. I was fortunate enough to have a similar situation, not as advanced as D1 was, but it helped me get better."
While a committed sales and marketing team has been promoting the business and signing up members for months, Tuesday marked the first training experience with the athletes. Both Suh and Scheffler led participants ranging from age 7 to college in pro-style drills that tested speed and agility; endurance; and strength training.

"They were really burning it up out there. Every one that left that field was dripping in sweat," said Mike Caponigro, D1 Detroit's marketing and sales coordinator.
"They had a great time, were extremely helpful and got everybody pumped up about being here. It was a great experience."
