Tsimhoni Children Get Time With Their Mother After 9-Month Separation
New judge allowed unsupervised visit, ordered both parents to "affirmatively encourage parenting time" with the other.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI – The Tsimhoni children were able to spend the weekend with their mother after a nine-month separation in the acrimonious child custody dispute that sparked international outrage when the judge previously overseeing the case sent the kids to detention for refusing to have lunch with and work to rebuild their broken relationship with their father.
Oakland County Circuit Judge Joan Young, who took over after udge Lisa Gorcyca disqualified herself in December, allowed the weekend reunion between Maya Eibschitz-Tsimhoni, of Bloomfield Hills, and her children, ages 14, 11 and 10
The children have been living with their father, of West Bloomfield, since last summer as part of a court-ordered “reunification program.” The program was to have lasted only 90 days, but was extended during a flurry of motions filed by Eibschitz-Tsimhoni’s lawyers to have Goryca removed from the case.

The visit, which was unsupervised over objections by lawyers for Omer Tsimhoni, allowed the children to be with their mother from 3:30 p.m. last Friday to the time she dropped them off for school on Monday morning, according to reports in The Oakland Press and the Detroit Free Press.
Young’s order said both parents shall “affirmatively encourage parenting time” with the other parent.

Shortly after taking over the case, Young admonished the parents to be nice to one another, saying she was “disappointed” by the hostile tenor of some of the court documents in the long-running dispute.
A June 23 custody hearing has been scheduled. Evidence from both parents will be heard. Another hearing is scheduled for July 12 on Omer Tsimhoni’s request that his ex-wife pay his attorney fees.
