BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI – The parents of three minor Bloomfield Hills children caught in an acrimonious child custody dispute were told to behave Monday by a new judge appointed to oversee the case.

Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Joan Young, who was appointed after Judge Lisa Gorcyca disqualified herself, told Maya Eibschitz-Tsimhoni and her ex-husband, Omer Tsimhoni, that she was “disappointed” by the hostile tenor of some of the documents in the case and admonished them to conduct themselves with more civility, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Gorcyca stepped aside after the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission filed a complaint about her handling of the case, which drew international attention after Gorcyca ordered the three children to Oakland County Children’s Village for refusing to have lunch with and take other steps to rebuild a relationship with their estranged father.

The children are currently living with their father, and their mother is prohibited from contacting them under an order previously issued by Gorcyca.

On Monday, Young asked lawyers to file briefs by Feb. 29 on that issue.
