• The reality of Wendy's downsizing may have hit Saginaw County with two sudden closures (mlive.com) — Bridgeport Township residents lost their local Wendy’s on Dixie Highway this week, with the restaurant closing permanently and directing customers to the Clio location. The sudden shutdown, along with a Birch Run closure, follows national downsizing plans and leaves Saginaw County with four remaining Wendy’s stores still operating. 
• Saginaw County officers honored at awards ceremony (midmichigannow.com) — One of this year’s Saginaw Exchange Club honorees works at the Michigan State Police Forensic Laboratory in Bridgeport, putting a local spotlight on behind-the-scenes crime-solving work. The awards luncheon recognized eight officers and staff from agencies across Saginaw County for outstanding service, including state police, Saginaw city and township departments, and the sheriff’s office.
