Annual Senior Walk and Picnic Hit Brighton High School
The class of 2016 take their final steps in Brighton High School.
The seniors finished their final exams on June 2nd. But before stepping onto the stage at Eastern Michigan's Convocation Center on June 11th for graduation, the class of 2016 returned to the school for one more walk through the halls. Surrounded by their family, friends, and the remaining student body, the class had one last look at their high school career. Dressed in graduation attire, the students were welcomed into every hallway with proud applause.
“It was great seeing all the parents and classmates supporting us,” senior Tyler Bay said.
Immediately following the walk, seniors filed out onto the football field for pictures with their peers. Afterward, the seniors enjoyed a picnic outside the fieldhouse, courtesy of administration and staff. All participated in a cookout funded by principal Gavin Johnson. They savored desserts from their teachers and received the meal from administrative distributors, like Henry Vechionni, John Thompson, and Jeff Beane. Officer Jim Meldrum, Richard Browder, Cindy Stafford, Jennifer Sprys-Tellner and superintendent Dr. Greg Gray helped as well.

“We had good hot dogs,” senior Justin Glardini said.
The tradition went smoothly for another year. For seniors exempt from exams, leadership teacher Arnella Park says she might have them come earlier, in regards to arrival time. Besides too much lag time in the beginning, the Senior Walk is one of the last steps taken in the school.
