Brighton Golfers Lose to Hartland

Bulldogs slip to second in KLAA West.

HARTLAND — A tough loss to rival Hartland has dropped the Brighton golf team out of first place in the Kensington Lakes Activities Association West Division.

The Bulldogs fell to the Eagles, 156-163, at Dunham Hills Tuesday and are now 3-2 in the West.

The win for Hartland puts it in a tie for first with Grand Blanc, both of which are 3-1.

"As a team, we gave away a lot of shots," said Brighton freshman David DeMarois, who led his team with a 37.

The other top scorers for Brighton were: Nathan Schwalm 40, Nick Mitter 42 and Matthew DeMarois 44.

"We thought too much out there and didn't focus," Schwalm said. "We all made some individual mistakes and they all add up at the end."

Brighton plays at Pinckney on Thursday.
