Brighton High Literary Arts Magazine releases 6th issue

The Taurus Canis Literary Arts Magazine is now available online and locally, featuring writing and art from BHS students and staff.

On May 25th, Taurus Canis released its sixth edition of the Literary Arts Magazine with the dedication and skills of about 50 members from Brighton High School.

Taurus Canis is composed of art, short stories, and poetry submitted by the students and staff of Brighton High School. The magazine is printed by Brighton High School’s graphics class with the help of Sean Carney. The 2017 magazine’s theme was “Carpe Diem”. With a $50 prize incentive, students were motivated to submit their work, but any and all literature, poetry, art, or photography is welcome.

BHS teacher Todd Day, the advisor of the magazine, helps guide and give ideas for the creative arts style publication.

“I like the collaboration of written work and inspired art in the magazine. It’s something I look forward to every year. I also like the collaboration between the students and teachers, it reflects one more component that makes Brighton Area Schools so special,” Day said.

Students interested in submitting their writing or art work into the magazine can send them in to bhslitmag2016@gmail.com. There is one publication each year in May.

For those in the community who would like a hard copy, they will be available for pickup in Robert C.
