Coach's Corner: Brighton Girls Basketball Teams Sweep Pinckney
Lady Bulldogs' Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams defeated the Pirates on Friday night.

The Brighton Girls Varsity Basketball Team got back into action after the holiday break in a big way with a 57-10 win over the Pinckney Pirates on Friday. The Bulldogs used a swarming man to man defense to shut down the Pirates' offense.
Brighton's defense had 20 steals and caused a number of turnovers, which lead to numerous easy scores for the Bulldogs. They also did a nice job with ball movement in their half court offense. Brighton had 18 assists for the game .
The Bulldogs were led by Courtney Murphy, with 14 points, 3 assists and 4 steals. Natalie Peterson added 12 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals while Laura Taylor had 11 rebounds and 3 points. Shelby Quinnette added 5 steals and 4 assists.

Lexie Garon, Natalie Schroeder and Stephanie Pfeifer all played well defensively for the Bulldogs. The win moved their record to 5-1 (1-0 in KLAA league play).
Junior Varsity also had a big win, defeating the Pirates 42-8. Freshmen also won their game 36-27.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Tuesday, when they host Grand Blanc. Both Freshman and Junior Varisty teams will play at 5:30 p.m. and the Varsity game will begin at 7 p.m.
