Combination ACT/SAT Practice Test
The Brighton High School Interact Club, affiliated with the Rotary Club of Brighton, is hosting a combination
ACT/SAT practice test for interested middle and high school students on Saturday, May 10th, from 10am to
2pm, at the Brighton High School
Cafeteria, 7878 Brighton Road.
Each student taking the practice test will gain access to free Kaplan online test preparation (a $299 value) that includes self-paced instruction of over 50 hours, and four proctored tests.
Expert
graders from Kaplan Test Prep will score and distribute results, along with
study and test-taking strategies, to students and parents on Monday, May 19th, from
7:00pm-8:30pm in the Brighton High School Cafeteria
The registration form is available through the www.BrightonRotary.com
website on the lower right side of the screen under DOWNLOAD. An early registration donation of $35 by May 3rd or a door registration (as space allows) donation of $50 are used to fund student educational scholarships offered by the Rotary Club of Brighton.
Students can register in person at the Brighton District Library by May 3rd at 5pm or by mail with postmark date of May 3rd to Brighton Rotary Foundation, PO Box 11, Brighton,MI 48116-0011. All checks are payable to the Brighton Rotary Foundation.
An advantage of taking this combination ACT/SAT practice
test is that taking a shortened version of the ACT and a shortened version of the SAT will yield information about potential scores on both tests in the same
amount of time it takes to complete an official ACT test. Since most colleges
and universities require either ACT or SAT scores for acceptance and
scholarship/financial aid decisions, the student can select which test may
demonstrate their skills in the most favorable light. Keeping in mind the
effect of good scores on college admission and scholarship offerings, we
believe that the opportunity to become familiar with the testing environment
and scoring rubric before the results are official is very valuable.
