Community Challenged to Help LACASA Earn $25,000 Grant

LACASA Center is looking for sponsors and supporters to partner up with them and take part in a community-wide challenge.

LACASA will be awarded a $25,000 grant if the organization exceeds its fundraising goal for Denim & Diamonds, the nonprofit's fall fundraising event.

“Sponsorships would have twice the impact if we reach our goal,” said Bonnie McArthur, LACASA development director. “This challenge grant, offered by a private foundation, would benefit abused children and victims of interpersonal violence from our community.”

The sponsor registration deadline for Denim & Diamonds is Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

Sponsors will receive prominent billing on all pre-event and day-of-the-event marketing materials. Advance promotions are distributed throughout area counties and the event is attended by hundreds of guests.

“All of our fundraising activities for this event will help qualify us for the challenge grant,” McArthur said. “From sponsorships and ticket sales to raffles and gambling proceeds, all funds we raise will count toward earning this financial award.”

Denim & Diamonds is set for September 13, 2014, from 6 - 10 p.m. at the private ranch of Gwen Haggerty-Bearden and Stephen Bearden in Howell.

Guests at this shimmering annual event enjoy an evening of equestrian shows, Wild West gambling, down-home food, wine and beer, live music, line dancing lessons, shopping at the general store, and a variety of smokin’ activities.

“We are inviting the community to take this challenge and support our event in any capacity they can,” said McArthur. “Every dollar we raise will put us closer to receiving this $25,000 grant.”
