The Livingston County Community Alliance's 11th
annual Run Against Drugs run will be held on May 10th at the First United
Methodist Church in Howell. This 5K run/walk raises awareness of substance use
and abuse in Livingston County. All funds raised from the event go back into
the community in the form of mini-grants that fund adolescent drug prevention
and awareness activities. The cost is $25 per person and if you register before
April 21st, you are guaranteed a free, tech t-shirt. In honor of Mother's Day
weekend, mother and child teams will have a registration fee of $20 per person
and all mothers will receive a free flower. Registration starts at 9am, with
the race starting at 10am. The course is USATF certified and qualifies runners
to enter the Mackinac Bridge Labor Day Run lottery. For more information and to
register, visit www.lccarunagainstdrugs.org This run is sponsored in part by the
Livingston Daily Press & Argus, WHMI, Uniplas, Tribar Manufacturing,
Citizens Insurance, and Asahi Kasei. Volunteers are also needed!
