Saturday's Annual Ruck to Live Raises Awareness of Suicide Prevention (whmi.com) — Downtown Brighton will host the sixth annual Ruck to Live suicide awareness walk this Saturday, starting 7 a.m. at the Brighton Veterans Memorial on St. Paul Street. Organizers stress face-to-face connection to combat rising suicide rates among youth and veterans, and invite both veterans and civilians from Livingston County to join for the march and lunch.
   

2. Michigan Flyer moving back to Brighton Meijer on Sept. 21 (thelivingstonpost.com) — Starting Sept. 21, Brighton riders can once again catch the Michigan Flyer at its usual stop on the south side of the Brighton Meijer parking lot. After more than a year at a temporary Whitmore Lake Park & Ride due to I-96 construction, the shuttle returns with shelter, real-time tracking, and low-cost parking supported by LETS and local partners.
   

3. Brighton 2024 non-profits ranked by total revenue (livingstontoday.com) — Brighton residents can see how local nonprofits stack up financially, with Lake Trust Credit Union topping the 2024 revenue list at more than $146 million. The ranking, based on IRS Form 990 filings, highlights 10 of 63 Brighton organizations, detailing their revenue, grants, contributions, and changing asset levels to give a clearer picture of the community's largest tax-exempt players.
   

4. Three Livingston County students among five receiving Lake Trust Foundation scholarships (thelivingstonpost.com) — Two Brighton residents have just received major Lake Trust Foundation scholarships, including a full ride to Cleary University and a $7,500 skilled-trades award. The program backs Michiganders entering high-demand fields, easing tuition and tool costs while helping strengthen the state's future workforce. Local students and families can see how neighbors are funding career changes and degrees.
   

5. Genoa Township residents can soon join five-year 'no knock' list (livingstondaily.com) — Genoa Township residents will soon be able to add their homes to a five-year "no knock" list that restricts door-to-door solicitors, following safety concerns also seen in nearby Brighton Township. The updated ordinance requires background checks for salespeople and will take effect after staff finish setting up the new registration system with the clerk's office.
