Rover Pipeline Development Holds Promise for Laborers
Rover is committed to employing local labor
In the latest development in the approval process of the Rover Pipeline, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) released a draft Environmental Impact Statement (dEIS) for the project. Additionally, FERC provided details for the upcoming scoping hearings on the project.
The Rover Pipeline will carry natural gas from carry domestically-produced natural gas from processing plants in West Virginia, Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania for delivery to the Midwest Hub near Defiance, Ohio. This state-of-the-art midstream infrastructure will provide a reliable source of affordable natural gas to businesses, manufacturers, and consumers throughout the region.
The IBEW is encouraged by this positive step forward in the process toward approving the Rover Pipeline project. Rover is committed to employing local labor throughout the construction process. The wages generated during construction will go a long way toward supporting our members and their families. Further, communities can anticipate an increase in commerce as we purchase goods and services from local businesses throughout construction.

While we continue to go over the thousands of pages of documentation contained in the dEIS, we look forward to the next steps of the approval process. Our members are ready to get to work, and we encourage FERC to pursue a timely review of the Rover Pipeline project.
