Share Mother's Day with Mom and The Peanuts Gang

Charlie Brown is a show for all ages

Huron Valley Community Theater will present "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," on Mother's Day Weekend. The Peanuts Gang will bring their famous humor and music to the Little Theater at Milford High School.  Through brief vignettes, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Sally, Pig Pen, Snoopy and the others will  take the audience inside the shy, anxious world of the beloved Charlie Brown. Co-directors Nancy McCauley Branstetter and Linda Foran have a twist for audiences.

"There will be not one, but two casts for this production," said Foran. "We will have an adult and a children's cast and they will alternate performances. We hope the  community will join us as we relive some wonder moments created by Charles Schultz."

Peanuts is a syndicated American comic strip written and illustrated by Charles M. Schultz, which ran from October 2, 1950, to February 13, 2000, continuing in reruns afterward. The cartoon was so loved and successful that the characters moved from the newspaper to television with specials including "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." The Peanuts gang also took to the stage in the musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown."

The show is a collection of some of the Peanuts Gang's favorite songs and moments. Lucy will share her wisdom, Schroeder his musical genus and Charlie Brown will attempt to fly a kite, win a baseball game and even speak to his dream date, the Little Red-Haired Girl.

"You're A Good Man Charlie Brown" will be presented Friday and Saturday evenings, with matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday, May 9-11.
