Wicked Winds, Freezing Temperatures Whip Up Breathtaking Sand Sculpture
Stop hating on winter and feast your eyes on what happened when gusting winds and freezing temps teamed along Lake Michigan.

Say what you will about the winter’s wicked winds, but the cold gusts are creating some amazing creations along the western coast of Lake Michigan.

Photographer Joshua Nowicki captured an amazing set of photos of natural frozen sand sculptures created by winds gusting up to 50 mph and freezing temperatures. The photos were taken on a recent weekend in Silver Beach County Park in Saint Joseph.
“They were formed due to erosion of the frozen sand from the high winds and blowing sand,” Nowicki said.
