• Cadillac groundwater cleanup fund short $230K a year as PFAS treatment adds costs (upnorthlive.com) — Cadillac’s groundwater treatment system is running a $230,000 yearly shortfall as it tackles both long-standing industrial pollution and newer PFAS contamination, forcing officials to consider cost cuts and new revenue. Local leaders are weighing options like restoring factory assessments and optimizing equipment, with more decisions expected at the Nov. 18 LDFA meeting.
• Area cross country state finals qualifiers (record-eagle.com) — Cadillac runners have punched their tickets to the state cross country finals, with Colton Mulder qualifying in Division 2 boys and Ella McInerney and Chloe Mazza advancing in Division 2 girls. They’ll compete alongside dozens of standout athletes from nearby schools like Petoskey, Lake City, McBain and Mesick, showcasing strong northern Michigan representation at the state meet.
